Clinic for sick calves, sheep, ewes lambing at our clinic

Sick calves, sheep and ewes lambing often come into the clinic where they will be attended quickly with all their needs on hand in the building.

Caesarean Sections on farm or in our dedicated on-site crush

All our vets are equipped to carry out caesarean sections on cows or ewes when required.

LDA, RDA, Caecal surgeries

Correction of these common conditions in cows especially during the spring months. Carried out by vets with experience in correction of these conditions.

Knockdown method disbudding of calves

We provide a full service for disbudding calves where they are sedated, receive local anaesthetic, pain relief and are disbudded by the vet.

Mastitis & SCC investigations

Investigation if any issue you may be having no matter how large or small to try and help with what can be a very frustrating issue. We look at everything from the bug causing the problem, milking routine, housing and checks on the milking machine during milking.

All Animal Health Ireland TASAH Programmes

Parasite, Cell Check, TB, Bioscore, Johnes. Our vets are trained in all AHI programmes for dairy, beef and sheep.

Bull Fertility Testing

Full Bull Breeding Soundness Evaluation including full health check, locomotion and jaw checks, full analysis of semen under a microscope to ensure the bull is suitable for breeding.

Investigations of unsatisfactory animal performance

For clients including full work up to identify causes. Lack of performance for no obvious reason is one of the most frustrating and costly problems on a farm, we help you to tease out these problems so you can get things back running as you are used too.

In house dung sample testing for worms and liver fluke.

We use OvaCyte technology to provide same day dung sample results if the sample is dropped in by 3pm. Next day guaranteed if after 3pm.

In house milk sample culture with next day results

We use Accumast culture to identify the bacteria causing a mastitis problem and can then advise on the best course of action to cure it.

Pre-breeding scanning

Full checks of animals for pre-breeding including Metri-checking as well as ultrasound scanning of the cow. Any cows with issues are then addressed at the same visit insuring she is bred early in your breeding season.

Herd/Flock Health advice & planning

We are happy to help anyone plan for their herd/flock for the year ahead to have the best possible outcomes for the year.

Vaccination advice

We provide advice on all pneumonia, blackleg, clostridia, salmonella, leptospirosis, toxoplasmosis, enzootic abortion, footrot and mastitis vaccines. We are happy to develop a yearly plan to help with keeping on top of the different vaccines and when they are needed.

Dehorning

We can dehorn older animals that slipped through the net as calves. We use local anaesthetic and ain relief on all animals.

Castrating

Castration with burdizzo or surgical castration depending on the bull’s age.

Vasectomy or epididymectomy for teaser animals

We perform epididymectomy or vasectomy on bulls and rams in advance of the breeding season, we advise semen testing prior to use.

TB Testing

We carry out TB testing for all herds under our care.

Blood Testing (Minerals, Disease screening)

Blood testing of animals to help uncover an issue or to help planning for the breeding/calving season.

We stock all vaccines, wormers as well as other animal health products.

Our shop is fully stocked with all vaccines and worming products priced competitively. If there is something we don’t routinely stock we generally have next day delivery with our suppliers.
